Day 2 - Edge of Patio

The initial part of setting the forms for the foundation has been started.  First, they set the forms around the perimeter of the house.  Then they trench a 4 foot x 1 foot area to set the outside edge of foundation.  The trenching will make the foundation look like a waffle (if you looked at it from underneath).  Steel and concrete are then set inside the trenching.  Then once the top layer of concrete is poured, it cures for two weeks.  Part of this process is sprinkling the foundation with water three times daily.
